Rebecca explains, “I cannot wait. All of my friends are coming to see me carry the Olympic flame. I don’t think it has really hit me yet how fantastic this is and how much of an occasion this is.”
Nominated by her mum Angela, who felt that Rebecca really deserved to carry the Torch due to her contribution as a volunteer sports coach after school and having recently gained a sports leadership qualification.
Proud mum Angela explains “Rebecca is going onto College to study sport and the truth is, she is an inspiration to her family and friends for all her efforts and consideration of helping those less fortunate than herself. We are immensely proud of her.”
Rebecca is just waiting to find out exactly the spot she will carry the Torch but she has already decided to buy her Torch that she will carry on the day. Rebecca says, “I’ll be keeping the torch as a momento of the day.”
