Friday 18 October sees Tigers take over Eastwood Park Theatre with two shows put on by Barrowland Ballet. ‘Tiger Tale’, for youngsters of six-years-old and over is about Poppy who feels bored and lonely and longs for someone to play with. Her world is turned upside down when a tiger comes to stay. Bringing chaos, danger and a lot of fun the guest slowly reminds Poppy and her family what it is they love about one another.
For an audience of 14-years-old and above, ‘Tiger’ is the story of a family who have ceased to function; a girl who longs for someone to play with; a mother who has forgotten what it’s like to go outside and a father obsessed with success. Their everyday world is shaken up when a tiger comes to visit.
On Thurs 31 October ‘Couldn’t Care Less’ explores the trials, frustration, joy, challenges and humour of people who are carers, and the people for whom they care. Elspeth comes and goes through windows into another world; her school of dance lies empty. The doctors say it’s Alzheimers. Elspeth and her daughter Lilly, a reluctant carer, take the first brave steps on a journey of frustration, humour and ultimately love as Lilly learns to dance with the person who is, not the mother who was.
